Copies of statement by John Eager and letter, May 8, 1846, possibly by Edward C. Kemble, accompany this. Also, clippings from the Sacramento Union, Sept. 11, 1866, and letter, July 31, 1884, from Glover to H.H. Bancroft (added after filming).

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
